Easy Apple Cobbler

5cupapples (peeled and sliced)
1 1⁄4cupsugar
10tablespoonall-purpose flour
1⁄2teaspoonground cinnamon
1teaspoonvanilla extract
3tablespoonbutter or margarine (softened)
1⁄2teaspoonbaking powder
1 egg (slightly beaten)


Combine the apples, sugar, 2 tablespoons of the flour, cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of the salt and 1/4 cup water; mix gently. Spoon into a lightly greased 9-inch square baking pan; dot with 1 tablespoon of butter. Set aside.

Combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Spoon over apple mixture in 9 equal portions (batter will spread during baking.) Bake at 375F for 35 to 40 minutes.
