2tablespoonvegetable oil
1 onion (chopped)
1poundground beef
2cupcanned tomatoes
2cupcanned creamed corn
1cupyellow cornmeal
1 1⁄2teaspoonsalt
1 1⁄2tablespoonchili powder
1⁄2poundmonterey jack cheese


In a heavy skillet, heat oil and cooked onion until soft. Add beef and cook until lightly browned. Stir in all remaining ingredients, except olives and cheese, mixing well. Add olives; cover pie with chunks of cheese. Cover and cook on top of stove over low heat, about 20 to 25 minutes.
