Ingredients

1poundground beef (or pork - or a combination)
1mediumonion (chopped)
1tablespoonvegetable oil
1clovegarlic (crushed)
1teaspooncinnamon
1⁄4teaspooncumin seed
1pinchground cloves
2largetomatoes (peeled and chopped)
2tablespooncider vinegar
1⁄2cupraisins
1teaspoonsalt
1⁄2cupslivered almonds

Instructions

In a large saucepan, brown meat and onion in oil over high heat. Drain off excess fat. Add garlic, cinnamon, cumin and cloves. Stir and cook 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes.
