Ingredients

1 shoulder of lamb (3 1/2 to 4 1/2 pounds)
1tablespoonbutter (or lamb drippings)
1 rosemary sprig
1largeonion
1 carrot
1tablespoonwater

Instructions

Lay the buttered shoulder on a bed of rosemary. Add the onion, carrot, and water. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours, basting from time to time.
