Ingredients

2quartwater
1cupcornmeal
1⁄2cupall-purpose flour
1teaspoonsalt
1⁄4teaspoonpepper
1⁄2teaspoononion powder
1⁄2poundfresh sausage
  flour and oil for frying

Instructions

Butter bread pans. In a heavy saucepan combine all the ingredients. Cook over low heat for 1 hour, stirring often. Pour cook mixture into prepared bread pans and cool. Run a knife around the sides to loosen and remove from the pans. Wrap in Saran wrap and refrigerate overnight. Slice, roll in flour, brown hot oil, and serve with warm syrup.
